TOP-40.ORG [RU] - Samstag 20.

Dieser wurde von Kompakt Gründer Wolfgang Voigt mit folgenden Worten beschrieben: »maybe the most wicked and euphoric music on earth«.

********************************************************************
Top-40.org is an experimental net-label from Moscow, Russia. It was found by Motor, originally as a headquarters for himself, later transformed to net-label. At the moment, a wide range of multi-style artists from Russia, USA and Europe are presented here.
Motor (Vadim Ougrioumov, born 1974) was best-known for his early minimal techno releases at Audio.NL label in Netherlands (in 1998 he released a series of 12-inch singles and CD album ‘Hexen’). Also, he is a founding member of rave/techno-pop group Techno Dance Club (in the beginning of 90’s) and an ex-member of Triplex trio. After his big success in dancing techno music (his first releases at Audio.NL were described by Mike Ink (the founder of Kompakt) as maybe the most wicked and euphoric music on Earth), he moved to more experimental genres of music, such as cut’n’paste collages, field recordings, microwave and glitch ambient. The CD-releases includes mini-album ‘First Snake’ (2000, glitch/cut’n’paste), ‘horse traX’ CD (2002, abstract micro-ambient) and ‘Freeze’ CD (released in 2003 at Kuro Neko Music, Chicago, USA). All other albums by Motor are free distributed on top-40.org.

Other projects by Motor include Quiet Zone net-label, focused on ultra-minimalism: field recordings, microwave, glitch, and Urban Soundscape festival in Moscow (5 parts, from 2004 to 2005, includes label artists and guests: Gultskra Artikler, Andrei Smirnov, Inna Breeze, Lazyfish, Franz Pomassl, Anna Ceeh, Atarix and others).
Mayhnaus (Lev Kantor) helps Motor to run and curate top-40.org net-label since the very beginning. He occasionally plays as a DJ at Rave Diggers party at Moscow, and also performs live on stage with Gultskra Artikler.

Nikita Tsymbal (born 1976 in Moscow, Russia), is an architect and visual artist. He works with audiovisual researches, experimental and interactive video. Nikita is one of the most active experimental video artists in Moscow. He wins the People's Choice Award in the “Video” nomination at Innovation Design Awards 2006. Nikita is a co-author of Audiovisual Researches Series at National Centre for Contemporary Arts, Moscow, Russia. In collaboration with Roland, he exclusively organized the first Russian presentation of a unique video synthesizer Roland CG-8.
As a video artist, Nikita is permanently collaborating with a great variety of electronic and instrumental collectives and performers, from Russia and all over the world. Also, he is an organizer and member of various musical actions, media-installations, fashion shows, and parties with a video support.
